Farms Collection: Studies

Statement: The farm paintings are all of a single dairy farm in Michigan. I began with the large pile of haylage covered with a tarp and tires, and then conceived "The Manure Spreader." I was thinking of Breughel's "Fall of Icarus." I love that at all times of day and all seasons of the year, something is going on at the farm. I have now made five large paintings of the farm, all addressing in some way the cycle of life.
